Pickleball Drills – Solo Wall Hitting Drill

Practice Pickleball Skills with the Solo Wall Hitting Drill

Pickleball solo hitting drill will help you improve your consistency and accuracy. The solo wall drill is great way to practice when you have limited time, space and equipment. All you need is a wall, some tape, your paddle and a ball. This is a great practice drill for working on dinks, volleys and overall hand-eye coordination. You will be able to work on both forehand and backhand skills. Glenn Peterson takes us through drill which he credits for bringing him up to a 5.0 player over the course of 1 winter.

Tape a line on the floor 7 feet back from the wall. This represents the kitchen. Tape another line horizontally on the wall at 36″ above the ground to represent the net (this is the hight of the net at the per edges where it is highest). Make another small box with tape just above the line for your target.

Once you have practiced a bit on the your skills you can start to incorporate more pickleball strategies. For more on pickleball strategy read out posts on Singles Strategy or Doubles Strategies
